Blended from horse and cow manure with culls from an organic vegetable operation, this compost provides a concentrated amount of organic matter and root available nutrients. McEnroe’s compost helps improve soil tilth and structure and increases the soil’s ability to hold water and nutrients. Help turn sandy or clay soils into nutrient dense garden beds and agricultural fields by mixing compost into existing soil.
Recommended Application Rates
Established Lawns: Broadcast 5 lbs. per 100 sq. ft.; reapply 4-6 weeks
New Lawns: Apply 10 lbs. per 100 sq. ft., work in 2" - 3" into topsoil; reapply 4-6 weeks
Vegetables/Flowers: Broadcast 15 - 20 lbs. per 100 sq. ft., rake in or mix with soil. Side dress plants during growing season.
Trees/Shrubs: Add a 50/50 mixture of compost and soil
Potted Plants: For established plants, add 1 Tbsp. per inch of pot diameter
Mulching: Apply 2 - 3" during growing season; 6 - 8" as a Fall/Winter mulch
Compost Starter: Spread a thin layer between each layer
This product is made in a controlled process to maintain a high temperature to ensure that any weed seed in the manure is killed.
